Blog 1

This is my first blog post. I watched the episode of Tracy Ma in the Nicer Tuesdays video series and the video introduction of Avatar Robot Cafe. The following are my three thoughts.

  1. Tracy mentioned in his speech that we should use images to understand the world, not just use images to decorate the world. In any publication, images are not an appendage of words. Tracy believes that the value of images is different from information in that images can make readers feel more powerful than themselves. I think this is the power of resonance that Tracy mentioned at the end. Images can make readers feel more empathy.

Tracy reminds her to reflect on the value of her current work through this triangular structure. The value of images lies in their ability to express thoughts, tone and opinions together. This makes print publications more three-dimensional and rich.
  2. At work, tracy also needs to learn new techniques. Learning new technologies is also a headache for me. But when I learned that even in a team with technical experts, Tracy will have the patience to learn new technologies such as code to improve his abilities. I feel inspired. Learning new technology may not mean completely conquering a new field. Only through continuous learning to deepen their knowledge of new technologies. This can provide more help to your own creation.

  3. About avatar robot cafe. I feel very touched that this technology can help disabled people who cannot go out into society. Through the video, I learned that this robot can bring pictures of people with disabilities living deep at home communicating with social posts, not just words. I think this is also because images can convey more powerful value. Can arouse people’s inner empathy. This makes the behavior of helping people with disabilities more caring. Graphic design can solve many communication problems that text cannot solve. This is more necessary than linguistic care and financial help for people with disabilities who cannot go out to socialize for many years.

I am very happy to share my thoughts here, and I look forward to seeing you in the next article!
